Volunteer Experience

Current working group member of NWHEAT. NWHeat is a collaboration between Orbis Cascade Alliance and NorthWest Academic Computing Consortium (NWACC) to advance our common goal of ensuring digital services, information systems, learning technologies, instructional and scholarly resources are equitably accessible to all users. Our overarching goal is to cultivate a community of practice among faculty and staff supporting digital accessibility on their campuses through a series of professional development opportunities and by facilitating sharing of best practices, knowledge and resources.


Familias en Acción Podcast – I volunteer my time to produce the Abuelas en Acción podcast.


Past member of the Board of Directors – Familias en Acción – Portland Oregon.

  • I volunteered with Familias en Acción for over 3 years and in March of 2016 joined the Board of Directors. I participated on the Board of Directors till July of 2017.
  • In the past I provided instructional and multimedia design support for design and launch of their first online training “Culturally Competent Palliative Care of Latinos” which is delivered for CEU credits by the CSU Palliative Care Institute. https://csupalliativecare.org/programs/latinos/
  • Helped to migrated their website from Drupal to WordPress. They are now moving to Wix.
  • Helped to build out their online learning options through their own learning portal using Learndash.com technology. 

Past member of the Board of Directors – Northwest Managers of Education Technology

  • NWMET is an organization of Educational Technology units at universities and colleges in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and in western Canada. I first participated with NWMET in 2012 representing the University of Portland, and have continued to attend their conferences and Oregon meetings. A past member of the Board of Directors as a State of Oregon Caucus Chair.
