Some Career Highlights

Linfield University

  • Led a team through the build out of a new campus in Portland OR. Linfield purchased a campus and from June 2020 to December 2020 my team would build out new infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing School of Nursing.  I gained support and approval from the VP of Finance for a new plan for the installation of new fiber, switches, servers, Wi-Fi, and upgrades to 7 of the 10 classrooms.  I arrived just in time to ensure the project was completed on time for a February start of term.
  • Led my team through a fiber reroute project to prepare for a new Science Building.
  • Worked with my team to complete the roll out Multi-Factor Authentication to all staff, faculty, and students.
  • Implemented a policy that provided laptops to all staff and faculty. As part of this project my team moved forward with device encryption and started a project to implement Intune.
  • Created a data protection policy and MFA policy as part of a renewed cyber security plan.
  • Incorporated the HECVAT (Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit) as part of the onboarding of any new cloud services.
  • Implemented VOIP Zoom Phones on the McMinnville and Portland campuses.
  • Completed a reorganization of Information Technology Services department.
  • Was part of the committee to rename a private road in honor of the Tribal people who thrived on the lands before Linfield.  The committee worked with a representative from Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde who eventually decided on Lakamas Lane.
  • Launched new emergency notification system. Moved from Blackboard Connect to RAVE.
  • Negotiated a new Blackboard Learn (LMS) contract.  Saw a reduction in cost and migrated to the cloud version.
  • Completed a Cybersecurity review in November of 2022.  This will set the stage for new projects around privileged access management and the creation or adoption of a security operations center.
